What's a perfect dinner?

Build your perfect four course meal. If you were to go out right now and have your dream dinner, what would it be like? What kind of ambience, service, drinks, and, of course, food?

Jar Chef in Antarctica?

Was just looking to make a res at Jar (charging to the work credit card, duh), but saw on the website the chef is leading a 2-week Antarctica trip? Minimum spend is like $25K - would love your thoughts on a culinary sea adventure...

Very eager to hear about Kate's experience with the Light Phone!

I have been using a flip phone for a year now. The first half I kept my iPhone part time, but ultimately found there was no possibility of a middle path. I am positive I made the right decision, but it has made me feel a little isolated, if I'm being honest. I thought the t9 muscle memory would return, but it hasn't! It's impossible to hold a conversation with friends. My partner just got the light phone ii, but the interface seems very glitchy and I'm put off by it's size. Is the 3 much better? I'm considering the wise phone as well, but prefer the small business ethos of the light phone. Also, I wanted to let you know about a service you can use to order rideshare through text...it's called Tremp. I just found out about them, which has been a relief. Getting around can be a huge problem. I really appreciate you taking space on your platform to talk about this issue! It truly is the fight for our lives.

Oliver Burkeman

Are you familiar with Oliver Burkeman? He wrote 4000 weeks, a seminal work about embracing the limited time we have. His whole thing is, stop clinging onto the fantasy of a perfect life because it won't happen. Instead, enjoy the limited/imperfect/mortal experiences you do have. Would love to hear your commentary on his thinking!

How to feel stuff when your dad has dementia

Hi Kate, My dad has dementia, as does yours (I think about that a lot). How do you manage to FEEL what you’re feeling? Sadness, anger, grief etc. I have ADHD and am really struggling with being able to feel things. Prone to analysing. Hope you want to share.

Colour seasons

What do you think about the concept of colour seasons? Have either of you done a colour analysis? If so, does it inform your fashion and makeup choices?

Thoughts on the Oura Ring? Or on biometric data globally?

Creative Rejection from Like Community

Can you guys talk about your past (and present if there are any) creative rejections? Particularly painful is being rejected from places that pride themselves on championing indie/quirky/weird art. Like even the misfits are rejecting my work, not seeing me as one of them. Were you ever in this position? How to keep going despite?

JACQULINE HAS SYNESTHESIA!?

Hello, did you know you have the brain condition synesthesia, in which two or more sense are linked (quite common in people with overactive brains and passed down genetically)? In several past episodes, J has posed the question about days of the week having color or numbers having a “personality” (or something to that affect) and I’m curious if you were aware that this is a neurological condition called synesthesia. Some more intense types include seeing colors or tasting words (and this is very real for the experiencer) but a more common, though still rare version is grapheme synesthesia, in which letters have colors, genders or personalities. Or spatial/ sequential synesthesia in which numbers, dates, calendars are “seen” or “ felt” visually in space. Just thought you should know as it’s common in hyper connected brains and commonly passed down matrilineally. I have several types and learning about it has been cool to know and explore. Thanks for all you give us, Hag sister Molly

I love a First story

I would love to know both of your first kiss and first period stories! PS: Tuesdays are my favorite day, thanks to you. PPS: Kate, can't wait to see you in Portland!

Wedding speech tips!

Hi! First of all, huge fan. You both support and inspire me creatively through your podcast, live shows, and recorded work. Thank you :) My best guy friend from college is getting married to his college sweetheart next summer. The couple has mentioned that they’d like me to make a speech at their wedding. - First, I’d love your input on how to structure the speech and what to keep in mind when I’m preparing the content of the speech. - This may or not be relevant lol, but in the genesis of the couple’s relationship, I didn’t have the besttttttt relationship with the bride to be (I chalk it up to my own immaturity and us having different personalities). The bride to be and I are now great friends and even hang out with each other without the groom to be. I definitely don’t want to allude to our rocky beginning in the speech, but I’m just giving you this context in case you suggest that I talk about what my initial impression of her was. Thank you so much for your input on this! This couple has been and continues to be like family to me and I want to make sure I deliver the speech that they deserve :)

Hag Gesture

I saw Kate’s fabulous show in Brooklyn last weekend and as she brilliantly sat on the stage, I found myself wanting to indicate to her via gesture that I am a Hag. A hand gesture, a facial expression, a nod, a salute? How can we best tell you both that a Hag is there in support of you?

My sister is a queer sex therapist

Hi to you both, I know this question will differ from ones you've answered in the past, but I'm interested in hearing your takes. My sister just graduated social work school with some kind of therapy degree. She wants to specialize in queer sex therapy, which is totally cool and fine with me. The only thing about having a newly graduated therapist sister is that every time I talk with her now, she seems to be putting on a kind of therapy voice, where she's extremely nonjudgmental no matter what, and says things like "Would you feel comfortable sharing with me how your day has been?", or, other things like, diagnosing herself as "neuro-spicy." This is all fine and good, except I feel like she's less interesting now (because of the nonjudgement), and it's like I can't break through to my real sister. What are your thoughts on this kind of therapy voice I described? Or your thoughts on therapy in an age of diagnosing, and where everyone thinks they're autistic? P.S. I've been watching/following Kate's comedy for 10 years now, her comedy means so much to me, and I feel extremely well-represented by her (and you too Jacqueline). THANK YOU FOR DOING WHAT YOU DO!

“Make Something - Take Nothing”

Not a question but wanted to share a snippet of a vivid dream that I had last night (and recorded in my Hobonichi Techno. Very long and realistic dream, however I was in Philly for work and it culminated with my friends car being broken into and all of our things taken or damaged. However, taped to my work cell phone was a small sticky note that had the below handwritten on it, “Make Something - Take Nothing” I’m going to need a 14 hour nap to process that one.
